Membership Metrics Audit
A two-week review of how your community membership app defines active members, renewals, and lapses — finished with a written briefing and a walkthrough call.
Who this is for
Operators who run a community membership app — paid guilds, professional associations, neighbourhood circles, or interest clubs — and need a clear reading of what the numbers actually say before a board meeting, price change, or chapter expansion.
What you receive
- A written Membership Metrics Audit briefing (typically 8–14 pages) covering definition gaps, renewal timing, and cohort behaviour
- A prioritised list of measurement fixes your team can make without changing vendors
- A 75-minute walkthrough call with whoever owns the membership programme day to day
- Optional one-page board summary if you ask for it during scoping
What we examine
We work from anonymised exports or read-only report access you provide: join dates, renewal and lapse events, plan tiers, chapter or group tags, and the engagement events your app already logs (opens, posts, event RSVPs). We do not install software or alter your production settings.
Included
- Kick-off call to confirm definitions and decision deadlines
- Two review cycles of the draft briefing
- Clarifying email between kick-off and delivery
Not included
- Building or configuring analytics products
- Writing code or modifying your membership app
- Legal advice on membership contracts
- Ongoing monitoring (see Monthly Reading Retainer)
Process
- Scope — you send a short note on member count, app name, and the decision you are preparing for.
- Intake — we agree which exports or screenshots we need; you remove personal names where possible.
- Reading — we map how “active,” “lapsed,” and “renewed” are counted and where those definitions diverge from how organisers talk about the community.
- Briefing — draft delivery, your comments, then final PDF and walkthrough call.
Preparation
Have available: last twelve months of join and renewal history if possible, current plan names, and one recent board or organiser report. If exports are messy, say so — we budget extra reading time rather than pretend the file is clean.
Constraints
Audits assume you can share membership event history. Purely anonymous visit logs without membership status are outside this reading. Work already started is non-refundable beyond the point described in our refund policy.
